Great question!! We chose to minimize the amount of poly-fill insulation for a couple reasons. First, the majority of complaints we hear from the weighted blanket community is that most if not all of the blankets that are sold sleep very hot causing unnecessary sweating and discomfort. We chose to address this by only using the bare minimum poly-fill was required to allow this blanket to function at its best. Research has also shown that minimizing insulation allows a more direct activation of Sensory Pressure Therapy with our Sensory Sand glass beads which translates into more feelings of tranquility, peace, relaxation, comfort and calmness.

Yes it is. We designed the blanket and duvet cover with machine washing and drying in mind. It is always best to simply remove and wash the Bamboo duvet cover only in order to avoid having to wash the inner blanket. Dry on low heat. If you need to wash the inner we recommend to hand wash only and hang dry. We recommend always washing with cold water, mild detergent and non chlorine bleach if needed. Do not iron or dry clean. When drying be sure to dry using the lowest heat setting possible.

Excellent question! We chose to use our proprietary Sensory Sand glass beads because of all the benefits they provide compared to plastic poly pellets. First, our Sensory Sand glass beads are made of 100% glass which has energetically superior properties similar to sand you would find on the beach which resonates with the users body and energetic field more harmoniously than toxic plastic poly pellets. Our Sensory Sand also is much quieter when moving and adjusting the blanket which is far less disturbing for the individual. Glass beads are also far more eco-friendly than the plastic alternative and we value our environment at the highest levels.

That’s easy. Research suggests that 7-12% of your body weight is the ideal recommended blanket weight. Our generous 60x80" size is perfect for one adult or two children to share. Children or lighter individuals can simply use only the needed portion of the blanket that best suits them. For example, if you are 75-100 lbs you would only need 1/2 of the 15lb blanket. The other half could be shared or simply left on the side of you.
